We aim to live sustainably and self sufficient while dedicating our minimalist lifestyle towards the preservation of nature.  All our methods are done so with as small of a footprint as possible.  We began with a dream of living the life of true mountaineers.  It has taken lots of hard work and patience, but we have finally made that happen.   

The Steep in the Woods channel began with a simple pallet cabin on our 14 acre property in North Carolina.  We brought you all along as we then set up our homestead and built a 12 x 16 split level tiny house.  We never expected so many people to watch and enjoy our progress and as we then had to say goodbye to that property 2 years later, we searched for an even better one.  It took longer than we wanted, but now we have a 26 acre property in Kentucky with solar energy, a hand dug spring and pond, animals, and gardens and much more to come!
